The IT Professional

David Stanton is a pragmatic lean delivery manager and thought leader with 30 years technology experience, evolving from programming through project program management to lean process improvements, recovering “red” programs, executing risk mitigation programs and running large transformation agendas.

His career journey has taken him through a variety of disciplines from Human Resource applications, credit cards and payment systems, core banking applications, data security transformations to digital applications. His success in these ventures was achieved utilising both traditional and agile techniques, applying lean DevOps thinking within mainframe, midrange and cloud processing.

With a DevOps lens, he has helped mature very complex release test environments, improving test execution quality and resilience, eliminating environmental constraints and performance concerns, providing repeatable processes to ensure high quality end-to-end test data available. This moved the organisation from frequently delayed quarterly release dates to now actively working towards fortnightly release capabilities to support the organisation’s agile DevOps aspirations.

He has proactively commenced an organisation’s transformation from the traditional delivery approach to a scaled agile oriented portfolio delivery, introducing prioritised product backlogs spanning projects, maturing operations and support team’s processes, improve quality assurance and de-risking deployed capability.

He is now an author and facilitator of Lean Agile DevOps training courses, and a writer on current process improvement topics.
